Studio Frö’s mission focuses on reducing waste and embracing the “Slow Flowers” philosophy, which prioritizes locally grown, seasonal cut flowers. These have a much smaller carbon footprint compared to imported flowers.
With our expertise in commercial design, we helped strengthen Studio Frö’s role as a trailblazer in the industry. Our approach featured sustainable, durable, and versatile solutions.
Studio Frö is also committed to reducing floral waste and donates any excess to the FloweRescue organization.
Brightening the City’s Heart with Floral Elegance.
Set in a historic building in Helsinki, Studio Frö brings a fresh perspective to traditional flower shops. It combines the charm of old-school floral shops with an innovative approach, adding vibrancy to the cityscape. Studio Frö is like a colorful floral cloud that changes with the seasons, captivating its visitors.
Our design breathed new life into the brand, filling the space with vibrant colors, refreshing the brand image, improving customer experience, and optimizing the workspace.

Objective
Studio Frö offers a wide range of sustainable floral services, including workshops, PR shipments, event decoration, and subscription services.
The spaces needed to be easily adaptable for various purposes, such as different types of work, workshops, and photography. The furniture had to be versatile, so it could be used both in the studio and for various Pop-Up events and gatherings.
Minimizing waste and ensuring sustainability were, of course, the foundation of the design. The space was planned to make the most of existing items, favor recycled materials, and choose responsible options.
Kohina’s task was to create an attractive and commercially functional space that supports Studio Frö’s sustainability principles and strengthens its success as a pioneer in the floral industry.

From a sustainability perspective, the space became a successful blend of old and new, highlighting Finnish design and craftsmanship. We utilized existing furniture, recycled pieces, and local woodworking skills. The wall paints were chosen from natural options, and the new furniture consists of durable, long-lasting, Finnish-made public space furnishings.
