Story of Kohina

Susanna Kallio founded Kohina in 2007 with the idea of specializing in high-quality architecture and space planning, in a user-oriented and sustainable way.

From the beginning, the responsibility for the carbon footprint we left has followed us until these days.

For Susanna, a high-quality environment means a whole, where everything has its own natural place, the details are thought out and finished – spaces where the feel of the material, the harmony of colors and the play of natural light speak to all the senses.

Genuine, durable and human-sized

Kohina’s design is based on roots, authenticity and user orientation. We live for the user’s experiences and details.

We respect the spirit of the buildings and save what is worth saving. We influence feelings and minds, create lasting experiences and promote people’s well-being in a variety of ways.

We believe that the combination of these creates meaningful and sustainable spaces. As a rule, we do projects for existing properties ranging from accommodation and business premises to offices.

We are curious and want to constantly develop and learn more. We favor natural materials, more responsible choices and, among other things, the use of Finnish wood. We want to leave behind sustainable and appropriate design that we can stand behind with pride.
