The timeless elegance of the Avia Pilot property is immediately evident upon entering the newly renovated lobby: a custom reception desk, wooden surfaces, earthy tones, and inviting seating areas welcome visitors to step further in.
In the cozy lounge area, the minimalist yet inviting atmosphere continues.
The long-time receptionist at the Avia Pilot property provided valuable insights during an interview. Based on the needs that emerged, a lobby and reception desk were designed with attention to detail, tailored to suit the space.
In the lounge, one can enjoy a cup of coffee and catch up with other tenants while watching airplanes fly by.

Material choices were carefully made to focus on durability and resilience to everyday use.
The granite flooring was a sensible choice to retain. The overall design was made more modern and inviting through the soft color and material selections of the loose furniture.

Challenge
Located in the heart of the rapidly developing Aviapolis, Lentäjäntie 3 was set to be renovated to align with the needs of its new brand and tenants. Formerly known as the WTC building, the property was rebranded as Avia Pilot. This presented a perfect opportunity to make the property even more unique and appealing, both in terms of its functions and atmosphere. The renovation focused primarily on the appearance and functionality of the lobby, which serves as the building’s calling card. Kohina was responsible for the interior architecture of the project, including cost estimations, and worked closely with LAK in making decisions on what should be renovated and what should be preserved.
Benefit
The atmosphere of the renovated lobby is now even more modern and inviting. The look was refreshed using loose furniture, lighting, acoustic elements, and a warm color palette. Wood-paneled surfaces, custom-built fixtures, and digital displays complete the timeless appearance.
The functions of the lobby and co-working space now better support the activities of the building and the surrounding business community. In the more relaxed, communal lounge area, one can work, enjoy a cup of coffee, or have a light lunch while watching airplanes fly by. The co-working space was made not only cozier but also better equipped with furniture that supports work and quick meetings.
